Two attempts to smuggle contraband in the Menunggol Laut waters, Brunei Muara District were successfully foiled in a joint operation conducted with the Marine Police, Operations Department, Royal Brunei Police Force and the Royal Customs and Excise Department.
During the operation, the Marine Police found 2 suspicious boats attempting to enter the country’s waters through Kampung Limpaku Pinang in Malaysia. A chase then took place and the two boats were found aground without the drivers. The boats were towed by the Royal Customs and Excise Department and handed over to the police. During the inspection, 430 cartons of cigarettes of various brands, 24 bottles of alcoholic drinks and 25 boxes of raw chicken wings. All contraband seized were handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department.
