​Islamic unity is an important matter in religion, even becoming an obligation and responsibility that Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala gives to His servants who believe. The obligation, said the State Mufti, requires Muslims to obey the teachings of Islam. Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Dr. Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned explained the matter at the 36th International Islamic Unity Conference on “Persaudaraan Sesama Islam Pemangkin Kesatuan Umat” or “Muslim Brotherhood as a Catalyst of People’s Unity” via webinar based in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Yang Berhormat Pehin further emphasised that the positive effects of the unity of the Muslim community will in turn have positive effects on individuals and the Muslim community. The conference is to create unity and solidarity among Muslims, develop ijma’ among scholars and scientists for ilmiah or scientific and cultural coordination. Yang Berhormat Pehin’s participation in the conference was at the invitation of His Excellency Dr. Hamid Shahriari, Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought.
