137 boxes of various types of fireworks were seized and 2 suspects were detained by personnel of the Bangar Police Station, Royal Brunei Police Force, RBPF.
In a press release, RBPF stated that during the crime prevention monitoring carried out in Kampung Buda-Buda, a car was found speeding away from the boat drop area in a suspicious way. The on-duty patrol managed to detain the car along with its driver and passenger.
During the inspection, the police found various suspicious packages containing contraband believed to be fireworks and cigarettes. The driver along with the vehicle and confiscated items were taken to the Bangar Police Station for further investigation. The two suspects were local men aged 26 and 29. The case is being investigated under the Arms and Explosives Act, Chapter 58.
