30 Participants Received Certificates

The two-day Community Level Disaster Risk Management Public Awareness Programme for Mukim Batu Apoi, Temburong District, ended yesterday with the presentation of certificates. The ceremony took place at Kampung Batu Apoi Community Hall.

Certificates of participation and appreciation were presented by Awang Haji Mohd. Azmi bin Haji Suhaili, Acting Assistant Temburong District Officer as the Chairman of the Temburong District DDMC. The ceremony ran concurrently with the handing over of the Disaster Logistics Equipment Storage Container Keys by Retired Colonel Muhd Harrith Rashidi bin Haji Muhd Jamin, Director of the National Disaster Management Centre to the Acting Assistant Temburong District Officer. The programme, which was conducted in collaboration with the interested agencies, was attended by 30 participants. Throughout the programme, participants had the opportunity to learn about the functions and roles of the National Disaster Management Centre and the agencies involved such as the Temburong District Office, the Fire and Rescue Department and the Department of Community Development. In addition, they also participated in some practical exercises such as town watching, hazard mapping as well as demonstrations of firefighting and fire prevention.
