Before the session heard the introduction of the Development budget allocation, the council approved the allocation for the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports amounting to $85,343,250 to be made as part of the Supply Bill 2021/2022 Schedule.
Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah in his deliberations on introduction on the budget allocation for the Development underlined that under the wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and close cooperation under the Whole of Nation and Whole of Government Approaches, the projects implemented under the 11th NDP will contribute to developments towards realising Wawasan Brunei 2035. The Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy also shared the development progress of the 11th NDP projects as of the 22nd of March 2021 which have been completed and still under implementation.
189 projects have been approved under the 11th NDP, including 3 projects approved under the Financial Year 2020/2021, which are: First, Electricity Supply Network System Project in Mukim Sukang, Belait District. Second, New War System to Close Quarter Battle or CQB Complex Project, Special Force Regiment Camp, Penanjong Garrison. Third, a project under the Manpower Planning and Employment Council which was coordinated under the estimated expenditure for Financial Year 2021/2022 into one HRD Fund from 5 original projects. Out of 189 projects, 20 projects have been completed including 13 postponed projects from the 10th NDP. These projects are expected to contribute to improving the quality of life of the citizens and residents, increase the country's economic activities and provide employment opportunities for locals, improve accessibility to basic facilities and therefore, will increase productivity in terms of efficiency and productivity of the Nation.
