45 compound fines were issued in the 'Operasi Sepadu' throughout the month of February for various offences under the Road Traffic Act and Regulations Chapter 68. The joint operation by the Royal Brunei Police Force was carried out in several areas including the Muara-Tutong Highway, Lambak Flyover, Kampung Kupang and commercial areas in Gadong, Serusop and Jalan Tutong.
The Land Transport Department, LTD in its press release, of the 45 compound fines issued, 31 per cent were for driving vehicles that are not qualified due to safety; 13 per cent for offences of 'tampering' the Speed limit Warning Device; 11 per cent of vehicles did not comply with construction regulations or modified vehicles and 11 per cent were driving commercial vehicles without valid certificates of eligibility.
