Brunei Salebration, Bsb, 2020 is back again for 90 days from the 15th of November 2020 until Chinese New Year, 12th of February 2021. The Brunei Salebration event is held much earlier than usual to assist in enhancing domestic economic activities. The Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, DEPS, Ministry of Finance and Economy welcomes the participation of vendors from various sectors including shops selling household items, shoes, books, sports equipment, jewellery, shopping centres and others in the end of year sales event in offering attractive discounts to support the government's efforts in stimulating domestic economic activities to further enhance economic growth.
According to the DEPS media release, during the BSB 2020, the government encourages vendors to together play their respective roles in enhancing domestic economic activities following the COVID-19 pandemic. DEPS also welcomes involvement from registered online businesses towards providing consumers with various product choices at competitive prices and purchase selection to fulfil consumer needs.
DEPS reminds participants to adhere to the latest guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health, especially in taking precautionary measures against the COVID-19 pandemic including carrying out body temperature checks on customers and providing hand sanitizers, ensuring customers scan the BruHealth application QR Code, complying to mass gathering guidelines by limiting the number of customers to 350 at a time and putting up social distancing signage as well as ensuring the cleanliness of the shopping trolleys and baskets. Online vendors are also reminded to take precautionary measures when providing delivery services to customers such as implementing no-contact delivery. D-E-P-S reminds BSb 2020 participants to always carry out businesses and sales activities in an ethical manner by complying with the Consumer Protection, Fair Trading, Order 2011 to increase customer confidence and company credibility.
To participate in the BSb 2020 event, vendors need to submit the Sales Information Form to DEPS. The Information Form can be downloaded from the DEPS website, www.jpes.gov.bn/cad and completed forms must be submitted not later than 21st of November 2020 either to the DEPS building or through e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Vendors wishing to take part in the sales event for a shorter 64 day period starting from the 15th of November 2020 until the 17th of January 2020 can contact DEPS for further information.
