Wreath Laying Ceremonies

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam attended two separate Wreath Laying Ceremonies at the Independence Monument and The Norodum Sihanouk Memorial respectively. The Independence Monument which was built in 1958, is an Angkorian-style tower to memorialise the Kingdom of Cambodia’s independence in 1953 as well as to honour those who died while defending the country. Located east of the Independence Monument, The Norodom Sihanouk Memorial which is also known as The Monument of His Majesty Priah Bat Sam Nak Priah Norodom Sihanouk, the late King-Father of Cambodia is dedicated to King Norodom Sihanouk following his accomplishment in gaining the independence of the Kingdom of Cambodia on 9th November 1953.

 

His Majesty first proceeded to the Independence Monument, where His Majesty was greeted by His Excellency Sam-nak Pichey Sina Tea Banh, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the National Defense, Kingdom of Cambodia. His Majesty then laid a wreath at the monument. At The Norodom Sihanouk Memorial, His Majesty was greeted by His Excellency Kuy Sophal, Privy Councillor of His Majesty the King of Cambodia and Senior Minister in Charge of the General Affairs to the Royal Palace. His Majesty then laid a wreath at the monument.
