Every year, World Cancer Day is commemorated around the globe to spread awareness and highlight the importance of early detection and prevention of cancer. It is celebrated every 4th of Februaryby organising awareness campaigns, promoting cancer education, and encouraging positive action towards fighting cancer. In this regard, the Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre, PJSC organised the World Cancer Day Weekend activities together with cancer patients and survivors at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien in the capital, 5th February morning.
Present were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy as Chairman of Board of Directors of PJSC; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Mohammad Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs.
Among the PJSC's World Cancer Day Weekend activities were Amazing Race 30-kilometre Bike and 2.5-kilometre Walk. More than one thousand people participated in the activity.
In addition, the formation of purple ribbons shows the passion to fight cancer. The event ran concurrently with certificates presentation to sponsors and winners.
