His Excellency Thongloun Sisoulith, President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, continued the state visit to the Seria Energy Lab, SEL. The lab is a flagship programme of Brunei Shell Petroleum, BSP, aimed at supporting the growth of science literacy in the country.

Welcoming His Excellency and delegation was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy. Also present was  Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister, Department of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office. During the visit, His Excellency and delegation were briefed on BSP’s business overview. The delegation were also brought for a special tour of SEL. The SEL was first opened in 2002 as the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre.

His Excellency then proceeded to Brunei LNG’s headquarters in Lumut. The delegation was welcomed by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy. During the visit to the Brunei LNG plant, the delegation was given an introduction to Brunei LNG. Brunei LNG was established on 9th December 1969, as the first LNG project in the Western Pacific region. The delegation was given a commercial overview on gas supply, customers and shipping.
