Earlier in the afternoon, His Majesty visited the National Martyr’s Memorial in Savar.

Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by A. K. M Mozammel Huq, Minister for Liberation War Affairs; His Excellency Sharif Ahmed, State Minister for Housing and Public Works; and His Excellency Dr. Md. Enamur Rahman, State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief. His Majesty laid a wreath on the Memorial.

His Majesty then planted a sapling. The National Martyrs’ Memorial is the national monument of Bangladesh, set up in the memory of those who died in the Bangladesh War of Independence of 1971.
