Vaccination is the Most Effective Measure to Prevent Infection

The public are reminded that although they have received the COVID-19 vaccine injection, there is still possibility of re-infection. However, the Health Minister explained vaccination was still the most effective measure to prevent infection and advised those at risk to vaccinate immediately.

Yang Berhormat the Minister of Health said that The Ministry of Health is working to expand the capacity of the National Vaccination Program to ensure that vaccination coverage among the citizens and population in the country can be increased immediately, in order to protect the well -being of all. In this regard, the Ministry informs that the Injection Center at the Learning Development Center, Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, Kuala Belait will be extending its operation hours starting tomorrow, Thursday the 12th of August 2021 as follows: Monday to Thursday and Saturday, from 8 in the morning until 8 in the evening. And Sundays, from 8 in the morning until 2 in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Vaccination Center at the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Hospital Tutong will move to Dewan Seri Kenangan, Tutong Town starting Saturday the 14th of August 2021. The Minister added that the public who have not yet received their COVID-19 injection, especially those at high risk such as the senior citizens and those with chronic diseases are to book their vaccination slots immediately. The Ministry of Health is also making preparations to start a vaccine injection programme for pregnant mothers in the near future. Therefore pregnant mothers who have not registered at the Maternity Clinic are advised to register immediately. In the meantime, those who are undergoing quarantine or isolation and has a COVID-19 injection slot booking are reminded not to attend them. The booking must be cancelled and a new slot can be made through the BruHealth application or by calling the Health Advice Line 148.
