The Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam launched the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy, BNCCP in 2020 that outlines the key strategies in addressing the issue of climate change. Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy stressed upon the matter at a Tree Planting event organised by UOB Asset Management Brunei Darussalam and Green Brunei at Pentagon Park in Berakas.

Over 100 representatives from over 19 organisations as well as faculty and students from education institutions participated in the event. Also present was Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy for Economy.
