The agencies involved continue to make thorough preparations for the cross-border activities that will begin this Monday, 1st of August. In order to take a closer look at the preparations to receive the arrival of visitors exiting and entering the country, the Cross-Border Affairs Taskforce yesterday afternoon visited the Sungai Tujuh Control Post in Belait District and the Labu Control Post in Temburong District.

The Department of Immigration and National Registration, JIPK implemented the upgrading of the new border control system and a test process has been made to ensure that the system runs smoothly. Meanwhile, the Royal Customs and Excise Department, RCED, will monitor the movement of vehicles, individuals and goods brought through land control posts in collaboration with the relevant agencies. To assist the public register, apply and pay Service Charges (CaP) of $3.00 per erson for one-way travel, RCED has also set up an Exit and Entry kiosk System, EES.

Members of the public who need specific help using EES, can come to the Customer Service Unit Counter at RCED Headquarters, during office hours.

At a minimum, 2 normal vehicle inspection counters will be opened at the Entry Section and 2 counters at the Exit Section.

The operating hours for land and sea control posts are from 6 in the morning to 6 in the afternoon every day.
