The Royal Thai Army helps flood victims in Lampang.

Military units rush to help flood victims in Lampang Province and closely monitor the water situation. Lt. Col. Kanyanat Ponnipatkul, assistant spokesperson for the Royal Thai Army, revealed that flash floods have inundated houses and agricultural areas of people in Lampang Province, causing damage in a total of 3 districts: Mueang Pan District, Mueang Lampang District, and Mae Mo District this morning (18 Sept. 67). The Royal Thai Army, through the Disaster Relief Center of the 32nd Military Circle, has deployed personnel and equipment from the 32nd Military Circle, the Military Cadet Training Center of the 32nd Military Circle, and the 2nd Infantry Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, to support the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command of Lampang Province to closely monitor the water situation and build sandbags and flood barriers in the risk areas that are low-lying and near the river, as well as evacuating people to safe areas and moving belongings to higher ground. Medical personnel from the Suras akmontri Camp Hospital have also been assigned to provide health check-ups for people, provide medicines, and provide advice on self-care and prevention from water-borne diseases in order to cope with and reduce damage from the amount of water flooding in the area. Although the water level in the area is currently trending down continuously, the 32nd Military Circle, which is the responsible unit in the area, is still monitoring the situation and preparing personnel, tools and equipment to provide immediate assistance to the people when the incident occurs.
