His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al- Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday morning made an Unscheduled Visit to the Public Service Commission, SPA and Public Service Department, JPA. During the visit, His Majesty in a titah expresses his attention and care in several matters related to complaints from the public on the employee recruitment procedures which are said to be inefficient due to delays in the job application process as well as unfair in relation to interviews and written tests that are seen to have a multitude of weaknesses. Thus, His Majesty stresses that SPA and JPA need to review the matter in a collective manner.

His Majesty in the titah first underscores that SPA and JPA are two bodies responsible for supplying a qualified public service workforce according to the country's needs, including playing a role in presenting matters related to Appointments, Transfers, Promotions, Dismissals and Disciplinary Actions for government officers based on the General Orders, Regulations and government circulars. His Majesty in his titah says that a matter that has mutually burdened SPA and JPA are public's complaints on the employee recruitment procedure which is said to be inefficient and even unfair.
