The Developments in Belait District

Various developments have been achieved in the country’s efforts to realise Wawasan Brunei 2035. Belait District is not exempted from experiencing the wave of progress as well as infrastructural and basic facilities development as in the other districts. All this is aimed at enhancing the people’s standard of living. We bring you a special report on the developments in Belait District.

 

The commercial paddy planting project at Kandol Area, Mukim Bukit Sawat is one of the government’s efforts in enhancing the country’s rice supply self-sufficiency. Operated by a local company, the production of 6,000 to 8,000 metric tonnes of rice is targeted for 2025, which is an additional 11 to 15 percent of the country’s rice requirements.

 

The people’s education and welfare were also among the matters being given serious attention by the government. This include the construction of the Sixth Form Centre special complex and also the provision of utilities and health care services.

 

Infrastructure and basic facilities development can not only be enjoyed by urban residents but also in the rural areas of Belait District. The support of citizens and residents as well as cooperation from the private sector and non-governmental bodies have helped to drive the country’s economy in general.

 

For over half a century under His Majesty’s leadership, various developments have been achieved. The monarch has shown a leadership of integrity when he inculcated Islamic teachings as the belief and core of His Majesty’s reign.

 

As citizens we should be grateful as the government has built numerous public facilities solely to provide comfort to the people.
