30 participants will present their respective readings at the semi-finals to be held on Sunday, the 29th May 2022. In the finals, five qari and five qariah, including the 2021 defending Qari and Qariah champions will compete.

Participants were given intensive workshops by experienced Al-Quran teachers under the Al-Quran Knowledge Skills Programme. The programme is one of the initiatives of the Department of Youth and Sports, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports to prepare the youths, especially qari and qariah of the country, to a higher level.
