Several initiatives have and are currently being implemented in further strengthening the security and well-being of the country's residents. The Minister of Home Affairs explained these include efforts to control, strengthen and monitor the entry of foreign nationals as well as the 'e-Arrival card' application.

Yang Berhormat said that as part of efforts to control, strengthen and monitor the entry of foreigners including tourists through control posts, a border management system has started to be used at the Brunei International Airport on the 14th of March 2022 and extended to the other control posts to replace the old control system at the said posts. On the 9th of February 2023, the e-arrival card application was introduced to replace the embarkation and disembarkation cards that were previously in use. With the implementation of the border management system and e-arrival card, not only has it facilitated the entry and exit process, especially for foreigners, but it can help the Department of Immigration and National Registration in the collection of information and data as well as enable the sharing of the latest information to stakeholder agencies for the use of planning analysis, policy drafting and others.
