During the State Visit, His Majesty also attended the State Luncheon hosted by His Majesty Priah Bat Sam Nak Priah Boro-Monit Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia. The ceremony was held at Priah Rea Damnak Sek Rey, Royal Palace Ground. At the State Luncheon, His Majesty in a titah touches on the recent 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and Related Summits. His Majesty extends his congratulations to Cambodia on its successful Chairmanship of ASEAN and furthermore expresses confidence that Cambodia’s efforts over the past year will contribute to long-term resilience.
In the titah, His Majesty also thanked Cambodia for its firm support throughout Brunei Darussalam’s ASEAN Chairmanship in 2021. Meanwhile, His Majesty shares that the global community, has been confronted with challenges in the past few years, including the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, geopolitical uncertainty and major power rivalry. In this regard, His Majesty expresses confidence that the shared ties between Brunei Darussalam and Cambodia will continue to thrive as both sides navigate the challenges together. In concluding the titah, His Majesty extends his best wishes for the excellent health and happiness of His Majesty the King of Cambodia and members of the Royal Family, as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of Cambodia and its people.
Earlier, His Majesty the King of Cambodia expresses his sincere gratitude to the Government and citizens of Brunei Darussalam for supporting Cambodians in the sectors of education, social and humanitarian affairs as well as technical knowledge. In addition, His Majesty the King of Cambodia emphasises that the State Visit of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam is a testament to the continuation of long-standing close ties and friendship, solidarity and bilateral cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and Cambodia.
His Majesty in his titah notes the remarkable strides Cambodia has made in its socio-economic development, which is a testament to His Majesty the King of Cambodia’s leadership and the steadfast commitment of the Government of Cambodia.
The State Luncheon, that was also enlivened with cultural performances, was held in honour of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s State Visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
