SSEAYP Participants Left for Japan

28 youths joining the 46th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program, SSEAYP, 2019 contingent has left for Japan yesterday afternoon. This year marks Brunei Darussalam's 34th participation since 1985. The 51-day programme will begin on the 24th October until the 13th of December.

Present at Brunei International Airport to bid farewell was Pengiran Mohammad Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Permanent Secretary for Administration, Finance and Estate at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. The country's contingent is led by Awang Shahminan bin Haji Mohamad Yasin. 330 youths from 11 nations are taking part in the programme on-board the Nippon Maru Ship. The ship will berth at selected ASEAN countries namely Viet Nam, Singapore, Myanmar and Malaysia before returning to Tokyo, Japan. The Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program is an international youth exchange programme particularly for ASEAN member nations and Japan since 1974.
