Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam graced the Special Women’s Maulidur Rasul Assembly for 1444 Hijrah. The ceremony took place at Royal Berkshire, Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club, Jerudong.

Upon arriving, Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs as Chairman of the Major Islamic Events Celebration Executive Committee for 1444 Hijrah; Co-Advisors and Co-Chairpersons as well as the Celebration’s other Working Committees.

Also in attendance were Her Majesty’s daughters and sisters;

– Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah;

– Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah;

– Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah;

– Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah;

– And Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador At-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ceremony began with the reading of the holy verses of Al-Quran, Surah At-Tahrim by Dayang Siti Zahrina binti Abdul Wahab, the third place winner of the National Level Al-Quran Reading Musabaqah for Adults for 1443 Hijrah.

Dayang Hajah Siti Mahyana binti Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Yahya, Co-Chairperson of the Celebration’s Working Committee, in her welcoming speech, among others touched on the theme of the Special Women’s Assembly, “Bersabar, Berikhtiar, Bertawakkal dan Berdoa Menghadapi Ujian: Meraih Syafa’at Rasulullah “Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam” or ‘Patience, Endeavour, Faith and Supplication in Facing Tests: Obtaining Rasulullah Shallallahu ‘Alaihi Wasallam’s Intercession’.

The ceremony was enlivened with a Dikir Marhaban led by a combination of female officers and staff of the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications and members of the Brunei Darussalam Women’s Council.

Dayang Hanisah binti Haji Othman, an Education Officer at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Al-Quran Tahfiz Institute in a Special Talk, among others said patience and being grateful when faced with heavy trials is the strength of the mukmins or believers souls.

The ceremony continued with recitation of Selawat Tafrijiyyah and Selawat Munjiyyah by students of Bandar Seri Begawan Arabic Preparatory School. Doa selamat was read by Pengiran Norhayati binti Pengiran Kasharan, Head of Dakwah and Tabligh at the Islamic Dakwah Centre.

This year’s Special Women’s Assembly was jointly held by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications and the Brunei Darussalam Women’s Council.
