Sovereign’s Parade for 20th Intake

During the Sovereign's Parade yesterday morning, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam commissioned 81 Officer Cadets from the 20th Intake of the Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces as Military Officers. His Majesty also awarded the Sword of Honour and other awards to the Best Officer Cadets in each field.

Upon arrival at the Defence Academy Parade Ground RBAF, His Majesty was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof, Second Minister of Defence and Major General Udara Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, Commander of RBAF.

Also present were His Majesty's sons, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, and His Royal Highness 920 Major Udara Prince 'Abdul Mateen.

Shortly after arriving, His Majesty received the Royal Salute and inspected the static Guard of Honour mounted by 50 male Officer Cadets and 31 female Officer Cadets under the command of Captain Muhammad Azmi bin Abdul Latif, the Parade Officer.

Sovereign's Parade is the culmination of the prestigious intensive military training for the RBAF Officer Cadet School in equipping Cadet Officers with knowledge, confidence, discipline, professionalism and leadership skills.

The 51-week military training tests the Officer Cadet's physical and mental capabilities. The Officer Cadets are equipped with vigilance to face challenges and self-empowerment as national heroes.

This historic moment was also witnessed by the parents and families of the Officer Cadets. Their support became the source of strength and inspiration for the Officer Cadets.

His Majesty then commissioned the Officer Cadets of the 20th Intake.

At the ceremony, the Monarch bestowed awards to the best Officer Cadets in various fields. The Sword of Honour was awarded to Officer Cadet Awangku Mohammad Qamarussalihin bin Pengiran Mohammad Saifuddin.

The Best Academic Award was awarded to Officer Cadet (Laut) Nurharzelah ALIAS Nurfazelah binti Yakub.

Officer Cadet (Udara) Dayangku Rabiatuladawiah ALIAS Dayangku Sarimah binti Pengiran Radzuan received the Best Military Skills Award.

Meanwhile, Officer Cadet Aabed Zul-Fadhlee bin Haji Abdul Hamid received the Best In Physical Fitness Endurance Training.

Doa Selamat was read by Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, Acting Director of RBAF Religious Department.
