Soft Opening of SMARTER’s ‘B-JAK Café’

SMARTER Brunei has received a new opportunity to expand its current Bistro and Cafe into a new location at the Anggerek Desa Swimming Pool. Known as SMARTER's 'B-JAK CAFE', the project aims to generate opportunities for adult living of individuals with Autism by providing an opportunity for employability and independent living.

The soft opening of SMARTER's 'B-JAK CAFE' was launched yesterday afternoon by Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. In his remarks, Yang Berhormat said the opening of the cafe gives an opportunity for adults with autism to earn a basic income, and ultimately lead a life of dignity.

The cafe is a social enterprise under SMARTER BRUNEI, fully staffed by adults with autism. It is open daily to the public from 9 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon except on Friday, when the cafe is closed from 12 noon until 3 in the afternoon.
