Slaughtering activities conducted at a house in Kampung Belimbing, Subok without licence and halal certificate were foiled during a raid by the enforcement officers from the Halal Food Control Division, Ministry of Religious Affairs.

During the operation, enforcement officers found 13 slaughtered chicken that were placed in 3 basins. Early investigation revealed that the chickens were to be distributed to the public. If found guilty, an imprisonment for a term up to 1 year, a fine up to $4,000 or both will be imposed. For the second and subsequent offences, imprisonment for a term up to 2 years or $8,000 fine will be imposed.
