Sinopharm Vaccine Handover Ceremony

Brunei Darussalam received 100,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine contributed by the Government of the People's Republic of China. The vaccines arrived last night at the Brunei International Airport.

Present at the airport to receive the vaccine were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs on behalf of the Government of Brunei Darussalam, and Her Excellency Yu Hong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Brunei Darussalam as representative of the Government of the People's Republic of China. Since 2020, Brunei Darussalam and the People's Republic of China have extended mutual assistance in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic. The latest contribution is the second batch of vaccines received from the Government of the People's Republic of China. The first batch of vaccines consisting 52 thousand doses of Sinopharm were received in February 2021.
