 Signing of MoU

Cooperation in the regulation of therapeutic products through the exchange of information and expertise will increase the ability of Brunei Darussalam and Australia to ensure the health and safety of the residents in their respective regions are maintained. The matter was emphasised during the signing of Memorandum of Understanding, MoU between the Brunei Darussalam Medicines Control Authority, BDMCA of the Ministry of Health of Brunei Darussalam and the Therapeutic Goods Administration, TGA, Department of Health and Aged Care, Australia, held virtually, yesterday.

Awang Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health also stressed that, through the MoU, both countries will be able to work together towards the exchange of useful information and expertise, especially in drafting regulations towards the regulation of therapeutic products. The MoU focuses on collaborative efforts for therapeutic products, namely encouraging the development of collaborative activities related to the regulation of therapeutic products; facilitate the exchange of information on the regulatory framework of pre-and post-market therapeutic products; and Test systems for monitoring. The signing of the MoU is also part of the initiative of the Ministry of Health in supporting the diversity and quality of medical services for the people and residents of Brunei Darussalam.
