 Sign Language Narrow the Communication Gap

​Proficient in applying sign language is an advantage for every individual. By learning sign language, it can help narrow the communication gap between the community and Hearing Impaired individuals in sharing information, knowledge, opinions and maintaining the well-being of the group. In conjunction with the International Sign Language Day which is celebrated on 23rd September, RTB News Centre brings a report on ‘The beauty of Sign Language’.

There are many advantages that can be gained if one is good with sign language. One can easily interact with hearing impaired individual; easy to understand the needs of hearing impaired individual; can be an middle person in conveying information from differently-abled individual to others and vice versa.

With the ability to communicate in sign language, one can make differently-abled individual happy as they are able to understand the information they convey. Parents are also urged to learn sign language to communicate with their children. Parents can support their hearing-impaired children by learning the Sign Language.
