Seven business premises in the country were issued compound fines by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, DEPS, Ministry of Finance and Economy for offences under the Price Control Act, Chapter 142 and the regulations under it for February to mid-March this year.

The companies were Roshney Alif Sendirian Berhad; Ya Nur Trading Company Sendirian Berhad; Pooman Enterprise; Raimmar Sendirian Berhad and Jaya Hypermart Sendirian Berhad.

The compounds issues were a result of the daily routine inspection by the Price Control Act enforcement, which found the premises were selling goods exceeding the maximum price set namely cooking oil and infant formula, not displaying prices for a number of goods sold and displaying prices which are confusing and not corresponding to the payment counter.
