Through the SAG marking method, the school will include a portfolio containing 3 types of substantial work for each subject. The Minister of Education explained this is an evaluation of student’s assignments throughout the 2021 academic year comprising several criteria.

This includes examination question papers completed according to the subject syllabus with a duration of 1 hour or more; Complete specific works according to the subject syllabus; Combination of questions taken from previous examination papers; Qualifying Test papers; extended project work assigned by the school; and work given such as essays, assignments, problems and practical’s. However, the selection of assignment assessment for substantial work is subject to the decision of the respective schools.

To ensure fair markings for each subject, a benchmark will be identified by the international examination body through specific and identified examination centres. By utilising the centre’s grading as a benchmark, comparison will be carried out between the centre and the school’s marks distribution and will be assessed to ensure no unusual marks are given. The average achievement will also be taken by the examination body based on the difference of marks from November 2019. Grading through SAG will be coordinated with grading through face-to-face examination by the international examination body during November 2019 to create a benchmark that is equal to international standards.
