Soon, Muslims will celebrate Hari Raya Aidil Adha. On the said day, it is commendable for Muslims to perform the Sunat Aidil Adha prayer and Korban or Rites of Sacrifice by slaughtering livestock such as camel, cattle, buffalo or goat for those who can afford it. This was underlined in yesterday's Friday Prayer titled Sacrificial Slaughter Nurturing A Noble Soul. The sermon also underlined the wisdom in performing Korban not only for those who are performing it, but also to those who received the distributed Korban meat such as the poor.

Among the praiseworthy characteristics that Korban can shape is instilling sincerity in performing any worship enjoined by Islamic law; gratitude; patience in facing life trials; and compassion as well as helping the underprivileged. Korban can also inculcate a caring attitude towards the community specifically the poor.
