An agreement has been reached between the Brunei Darussalam Postal Service Department and Malaysian Post, as well as Miri and Limbang Post Offices for parcel collection on behalf of the recipients in the country. The Minister of Transport and Infocommunications explained the matter in response to the runner issues.
Parcel collection by the runners has become an issue as some runners are not registered and they are not allowed to enter and exit the country. Hence, the negotiations have been made between the two sides through Government to Government or G2G between the Brunei Darussalam Postal Services Department with Malaysian Post. Yang Berhormat clarified, items or parcels need to be identified first before collection. The Postal Services is making some arrangement on parcels involved. In this matter, customers are required to fill up an online form for declaration and parcel claim. The Postal Services will provide voluntary service and become the runner for the customer if they are willing to do so.
