Reception in Conjunction with Republic Day of India

Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of India have enjoyed 39 years of warm and friendly relationship since the inception of diplomatic ties in 1984. Over the years, it has evolved into a multifaceted engagement, characterised by goodwill, mutual-respect, understanding and growing cooperation both at the regional and at the multilateral fora. The High Commissioner of India to the country stressed the matter during a Reception in conjunction with the 74th Republic Day of India. It was held on 26th January night, at the Berkshire Hall, Tarindak D'Polo in Jerudong.

Representing the Government of His Majesty at the reception was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Minister of Home Affairs. His Excellency Alok A. Dimri in his speech highlighted the progress in several fields including in trade and investments as well as identifying agriculture, education and health as priority areas for cooperation.
