The 32nd Teachers’ Day Celebration will be held on Tuesday, 27th September at International Convention Centre in Berakas. This year’s celebration carries the theme “GURU BERKUALITI PEMACU TRANSFORMASI PENDIDIKAN’ or Quality Teachers Driving Educational Transformation. To reach the visions outlined in Wawasan Brunei 2035, the education sector plays a major role in contributing towards producing educated, highly skilled and successful citizens. By taking into account the changing landscape of the world of work and living standards, the dynamic education sector needs to go through transformation to remain relevant, in order to ensure that the education system can produce the desired human resources.

Quality teachers have a direct impact on their students in order to have the ability to drive and ensure the transformation of the country can be realised efficiently and effectively. The evolution of technology and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has caused educational policy makers to be more sensitive and agile in educational transformation. The evolution emphasises that quality teachers are not only skilled in teaching and learning aspects, but also competent in tackling crisis situations that limit the teaching process.

His Majesty’s Government through the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Religious Affairs will continue to implement educational strategies and initiatives to strengthen academic achievement and the formation of syumul students. Quality teachers are expected to be able to inspire the students to have a mind-set towards lifelong learning, sharpen their skills to the highest level and explore opportunities to prove their abilities.
