Public Urged to Use the PenggunaBijak App

In a similar media conference, the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy informed that the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics, JPES, is constantly monitoring the prices and stocks of certain basic necessities on a weekly basis since December 2020. Information from the monitoring is shared with the public and published at the department’s website. The department has increase price monitoring in the markets since the 7th of August.

 

Consumers are urged to use the PenggunaBijak app to make price comparison of goods and choices. Prices for goods are different from one shop to another, depending on factors such as resource, quality and capacity. Yang Berhormat hoped that the PenggunaBijak App will help consumer in making price comparison and therefore, making a smart choice. JPES in collaboration with the HUB, Darussalam Enterprise has conducted monitoring on the stocks of certain basic necessities such as face masks and hand sanitizer at supplier and retail levels. In this matter, the stocks of rice are sufficient and the storage stock has been increased to 8 months, the supply of chicken, meat, and eggs are sufficient as the goods can be obtained based on its availability at grocery stores and supermarkets.
