Prohibited Items Seized

809 bottles and 3,153 cans of alcoholic drinks of various brands seized during an operation conducted by the Royal Customs and Excise Department at a house in Jalan Kebangsaan Lama.

From the public tip-off, a 46-year old man was arrested. Also seized were 1 unit of dispenser containing 19 litres of alcoholic drink, a cash money amounting to $3,524 believed to be the proceeds of the sale of prohibited goods and a car. All prohibited items and individual involved were brought to the RCED Law Enforcement office for further investigation.

Meanwhile, several small plastic packages suspected to be controlled drugs were found during a routine inspection conducted at the Mumong Post Office inspection counter, Kuala Belait. During the inspection, RCED, found, a package that was falsely declared as a medical document. The outcome of the inspection found that a black plastic tube was attached to one of the clothing catalogs and was found to contain several small plastic packages suspected to be controlled drugs. RCED handed over the goods believed to be the controlled drug and the owner of the package to the Narcotics Control Bureau.
