The South African Ceres-branded apple juice products were recalled from the national market, following detected levels of the Mycotoxin Patulin' that exceeded the maximum limit allowed in fruit juices. In this regard, the Brunei Darussalam Food Authority, BDFA in its press release informed that the importer of Ceres product brand in the country and has confirmed that the affected batches are not imported into Brunei Darussalam.

BDFA also reminded that under Section 9 of subsection, 1 subparagraph 1 of the Public Health (Food) Act, Chapter 182, any person who prepares, sells or imports a food item that can harm health can be imprisoned for five years, fined or both.
