A briefing on Organic Farming was held in the afternoon. The briefing held at the Simpor Hall, Rimba Garden Central in Gadong was delivered by Awang Izzanudin bin Haji Bujang, Head of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition Unit.
The briefing touched on the criteria to start an organic farm, such as location and farm history, soil and farm management as well as water source. According to Awang Izzanudin, organic farming policies require an emphasis on ecosystem conservation, micros and land plants. He added, organic farming is a terminology that only refers to planting of plants, vegetables and fruits using natural methods without using poison or synthetic chemicals.
Meanwhile, a demonstration on making eco-enzymes or waste enzymes was held at the Rimba Garden Central by the Women's Institute. Present was Datin Dayang Hajah Masni binti Haji Mohammad Ali, Women's Institute Advisor.
