Novel Adaptation Workshop Closing Ceremony

In the creative industry, foreign countries have successfully adapted their literary works into new media such as staging, screenplay as well as film. Therefore, it provided platforms for the local creative industry especially art activists to be active. Speaking during the Closing Ceremony of the Novel Adaptation to Stage Drama Script Workshop, Doctor Siti Norkhalbi binti Haji Wahsalfelah, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports yesterday afternoon explained that the Language and Literature Bureau has a variety of literary works which have the potential to be adapted. The workshop, for example, used a local novel, titled 'Mahkota Yang Berdarah' by Yura Halim to be used as the practical material for the participants.

The 4 -day workshop introduced participants to two methods which is understanding the novel and facilitating the writing of stage drama scripts. The workshop is hoped to produce writer's ideologies in various literary genres as well as participating in the Novel Adaptation to Stage Drama Script Contest which was opened since the 30th of June.
