The Brunei Darussalam Syariah Court has announced that by the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Yang Di-Pertua of the Islamic Religious Council hereby informs that the 1st of Syaaban 1443 Hijrah fell on Friday, 4th of March 2022. Therefore, Nisfu Syaaban for the year 1443 Hijrah falls on Thursday, 17th of March 2022.
In this regard, the sighting of the new moon of Ramadhan 1443 Hijrah will be conducted on Friday afternoon, 29th of Syaaban 1443 Hijrah corresponding to 1st of April 2022. In Brunei Muara District, the sighting of the new moon of Ramadhan will be held at Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre, PJSC Building; Bukit Agok, Jerudong and Tanjung Batu, Kampung Sabun. In Tutong District, it will be at Bukit Ambog and Bukit Lumut for Belait District.
