To ensure the country's water security is assured, the Minister of Development stated that the Ministry has provided a workframe through the Brunei Darussalam towards Water Security 2021/2035 which explains the strategy and plans in supplying clean water continuously in the long term as well as providing the best services to the public.

The strategy framework is not only made into a roadmap for the forthcoming plans and action, but can also be used by local and overseas operators as a reference and guide in planning future investment strategies on the country's water supply. In the 'Whole of Nation' aspect, an executive committee for the structuring of the water sector, JTPSA involving several relevant ministers was established on October 2021 to review and holistically inspect the national water supply system.
