The National Business Conference 2023 featured a Scene-Setting Panel Discussion on the Brunei Economy 2023, which discussed on global challenges and digitalisation. The conference was organised by the ASEAN Business Council and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Business Advisory Council of Brunei Darussalam in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Economy and several organisations in the country.

Four panelists took part in the discussion namely Dato Seri Paduka Haji Khairuddin bin Haji Abdul Hamid, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy for Economy, Eduardo Pedrosa, Secretary-General of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council; Dayang Nik Hafimi binti Abdul Haadii, Executive Director of LVK Group of Companies and Chair of the APEC Business Advisory Council Brunei; and Dayang Hajah Faridah binti Dato Seri Paduka Haji Talib, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Brunei LNG.

During the panel session, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy for Economy shared that the economy is seeing greater diversification and encouraged the business community to embrace digitalisation. The Conference was an opportunity for the participants to gain significant insight into the business environment for the year ahead.
