A sum of $5.96 billion has been proposed for the National Budget for the Financial Year 2023/2024. Presenting the Bill called, an Act To Supply A Sum of Money From the Collection of Monies of the Consolidated Fund for the Financial Year 2023/2024 and to allocate the sum for specific purposes, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy said the Budget theme for the Financial Year 2023/2024, ' Bersatu Membina Masa Depan Yang Lebih Makmur' or 'Building A Prosperous Future Together' will focus on three priorities.

First is 'Maintaining Public Well-being', Second 'Supporting Inclusive and Sustainable National Recovery' and Third', 'Building Dynamic, Proactive and Innovative Human Capital.' Yang Berhormat said the theme aims towards further strengthening the sustainability of the country's economy. The government will always strive to build a sustainable, dynamic and resilient economic foundation towards stable economic growth in order to achieve Wawasan Brunei 2035. Hence, the government and sector private sectors as well as the people should carry out their roles and responsibilities together to ensure lasting national prosperity. This includes the involvement of Government-Linked Companies, GLCs and Foreign FDirect Investment Companies, FDIs. Towards this, priority will continue to be given to increasing efforts to diversify and drive the country's economic growth.
