The Musabaqah Murattal Al-Quran and Memorisation of Al-Quran Verses not only functions as a competition platform, it is also capable of producing a generation that endears themselves to Al-Quran and live guided by the holy book. Awang Haji Abd Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh, Director of the Islamic Da'wah Centre stated the matter at the District Level Musabaqah Murattal Al-Quran and Memorisation of Al-Quran Verses for New Converts.

Awang Muhammad Saiful Dafi bin Muhammad Suhaimi and Dayang Siti Nur Afiqah binti Muhd. Asnawi were crowned as champions of the competition for the Brunei Muara District. 19 participants competed in the Musabaqah which was divided into 2 categories. The competition aimed to encourage new converts to always read and internalise Al-Quran.
