A company was charged by the Enforcement Unit of Tutong District Office for violating the Miscellaneous Offences Act 2021 which is dumping rubbish in public areas.

Alinaz Enterprise in Kampung Pengkalan Mau was issued a $500 compound fine and given 7 days to settle the fine. If in default, the company can be brought to court and if convicted, can be fined not less than $2,000 and not exceeding $10,000. For the second or subsequent offences, the company can face a fine of not less than $10,000 and not exceeding $30,000, imprisonment for a period not exceeding 12 months or both.

The Enforcement Unit, Tutong District Office reminds the public, companies and owners of business premises to always keep the environment clean, especially in the business premises as well as public areas by not throwing, dumping or leaving rubbish in public places.
