 Media Conference on Latest COVID-19 Situation

In the past one week, the number of COVID-19 cases reported in Brunei Darussalam was at an average rate of about 179 cases per day compared to 169 cases per day the week before. A total of 52,405 ART results were uploaded to the BruHealth application within one week of which 2.4 percent were positive. This was stated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, Minister of Health at a media conference on the latest COVID-19 situation at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health. Also joining the media conference were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; and Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy.

2 cases are in Category 4 which requires oxygen assistance and are under close monitoring. The rate of vaccination coverage of COVID-19 in Brunei Darussalam remains at a high level with 78.2 percent of all citizens and residents of this country having received the 3rd dose of the vaccine and 10.1 percent also having received the fourth dose. 166 new cases have been reported, of which 164 cases are the result of ART tests and 2 cases from 335 RT-PCR lab tests.
