Media Conference on COVID-19 New Normal

The number of COVID-19 cases reported in Brunei Darussalam was at an average rate of about 1,730 cases per day. A total of 68,893 ART results were uploaded to the BruHealth app within one week, of which 17.5 percent were positive. The matter was shared by the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office during the Media Conference on COVID-19 New Normal, yesterday afternoon at Dewan Al-Afiah, Ministry of Health. Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohammad Yussof also stated that yesterday, 1 case is in Category 5, while 15 cases are in Category 4.

Similar to the previous week, over 99 percent of the cases detected within the past week are in Category 1 or 2 and do not require hospital treatment. As of yesterday, 17th July 2022, the COVID-19 vaccination coverage in Brunei Darussalam continues to increase. 74 percent of the country's citizens and residents have received the third dose vaccination, while 5 percent received the fourth dose. 78 percent of second dose vaccinations were administered to children aged 5 to 11 years old; and 51.8 percent of adolescents aged 12 to 17 years old have received the third dose vaccination. 1,772 new cases were recorded yesterday, of which 1,762 cases were the result of ART and 10 cases were the result of 334 RT PCR laboratory tests have been performed in the past 24 hours. The public are reminded to upload their ART results, whether positive or negative in the BruHealth app to assist the Ministry of Health monitor the infection situation.
