The joy of the Get-Together Ceremony with the citizens and residents of Belait District was clearly seen when His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam visited the special tents. The golden opportunity to meet the beloved monarch was grabbed by all walks of life while presenting birthday greetings to His Majesty. Accompanying His Majesty were His Majesty’s sons and brothers: His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office; His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah; and His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.

 

Although faced with the risk of COVID-19, frontliners sacrificed their time and energy to assist in curbing the spread of the pandemic in the country.

 

The opportunity to mingle with His Majesty was also grabbed by the senior citizens.

 

The participation of the society at all levels in Belait District clearly reflects the harmony, solidarity and close cooperation in support of the leadership of a caring and attentive monarch.

 

Education continues to be given priority in order to produce a generation that is knowledgeable, skilled, disciplined, courteous and highly prudent.

 

Personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Third Battalion in Lumut and the British Garrison Seria also took the opportunity to congratulate and give thanks to His Majesty.

 

In line with its role, non-governmental organisations, NGOs and associations continue to be committed in upholding the country and people by providing additional support in activities directed to the community and others.

 

The revenue from oil and gas has largely helped to further enhance the standard of living of the citizens and residents in the country.

 

Private companies also play a vital role in various aspects, moreover in developing and expanding the country’s economy.

 

His Majesty and the other members of the royal family then proceeded to the luncheon at the Dewan Santap.

 

Doa Selamat was read by Awang Mohamad Shah bin Haji Taip, Belait District Syariah Subordinate Court Judge.

 

The presence of His Majesty at the Get-Together Ceremony, was very meaningful to the people. Throughout the Get-Together Ceremonies with the Citizens and Residents in the four districts, all levels of society grabbed the golden opportunity to meet with the monarch and express their gratitude and thanks to the monarch. This makes His Majesty’s visit into a memory that is etched into history which symbolises the close and special ties between the monarch and the people.
