With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Prime Minister's Office would to like to inform on updates to the Exit-Travel Application Guidelines regarding an additional condition for outbound travellers to obtain mandatory injections of the COVID-19 vaccination, which will come into effect starting 1st August 2021 as follows:

Citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam applying for exit-travel applications from the Prime Minister's Office to exit the country for the purpose of, Working abroad; Transport Operators; Foreign workers who wish to return to their country of origin for the purpose of mandatory contract leave, and will return to Brunei Darussalam on a valid employment pass or dependent's pass; Business; and other essential travels. The outbound travellers who wish to exit the country from the effective date onwards are required to obtain mandatory injections of the COVID-19 vaccination by booking their respective vaccination slots through the BruHealth application in advance prior to visiting any vaccination centre designated by the Ministry of Health.

However, the outbound travellers are reminded that their exit-travel applications will not be granted automatically even after they have obtained the mandatory vaccination, as every exit-travel application is subject to evaluation and approval from the Prime Minister's Office as per the guidelines issued before. Meanwhile, all inbound travellers who will return to Brunei Darussalam from any foreign airports will be required to undergo mandatory self-isolation at respective hotel accommodation for a period as determined by the Ministry of Health's risk assessment.
