The SMS Brunei Prihatin for Orphans Fund facilitates the public to donate through the fund under the Department of Community Development, JAPEM, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. This year, the collection of donations via SMS will last for 3 months from the 1st of April to the 1st of July. The launching ceremony of Brunei Prihatin's 'SMS' for the 2022 Orphans Fund and the Presentation of Sponsorship Letter for the 2022 Orphans Scholarship Programme took place yesterday afternoon at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
Earlier, Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture Youth and Sports received a $220,619 cheque for $220,619 collected through the SMS Brunei Prihatin for the Orphans Fund launched last year. This year donations via SMS will be opened for 50 and 1 hundred dollars, apart from 5, 10, 15 and 20 dollars. The initiative is a collaboration between Department of Community Development, JAPEM, Radio Television Brunei, DST Sdn Bhd, Progresif Sdn Bhd and Imagine Sdn Bhd. During the event, two students selected for the 2022 Orphan Scholarship Programme received the Orphan Scholarship Sponsorship Letter for the 2021/2022 School Year.
